MIR and Pro Tools midi setup
Hello! Probably it is a stupid question but i really can't get Pro Tools and MIR working together. The thing is that i'm not able to send midi signal to MIR. I've been using Samplitude and LoopBe for a while and it was as simple as that: set midi channel output to "Internal 1" and assign it as an input inside MIR. In Pro Tools it looks different. I create a new midi track, open its output and there is a list of those internal channels, but it says next to them - "emulated" and once pointing a mouse on them -another box opens with a list of channels from 1 to 16. Choosing any of them doesn't get things working. A midi signal comes inside Pro Tools but it never goes further to MIR. It would be just great if someone could give me a step-by-step instruction on how to set up midi things in Pro Tools to route the signal inside MIR! Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. Yes, Dietz, i keep them record-enabled. Maybe some additional setup is needed. Maybe something in the Peripherals tab.. In Samplitude i didn't have to choose any channels inside "Internal Midi 1".. I had to select "Internal Midi 1" itself and that was it.. Same in MIR. But in Pro Tools i have to choose from 1 to 16 channels inside "Internal Midi 1". That is confusing me ) And i tried selecting all of them, i even tried making 16 midi tracks playing at the same time, each of them was routed to all of 16 channels. Nothing happens - MIR doesn't receive any signal.

Sorry that I can't help you - I do a lot of mixes on ProTools, but never on Windows and hardly ever with "live"-MIDI, so I have no idea what these OS-specific issues with MIDI might be. - Usually, in the Windows-world, those things are pretty straight-forward ... :-/

I use ProTools 9 and MIR together on the same windows computer and it works great for me. Things I do is...in ProTools, midi in needs to be whatever your useing to input midi info and out needs to be LoopBe30 on whatever chanel (1-16) you want. Then in MIR when you open VI or any VSTi it has to be on the same chanel as your selected midi track in ProTools. In ProTool your midi track has to be record inabled. Thats all Ive ever done.Never had a problem. Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply, but thats exactly what i do.. i create a midi track in PT, set its output to Internal Midi channel 1 (for example) and i set Vienna Instruments' input (inside MIR) to Internal Midi channel 1; i make this track record enabled but it doesn't sound. Could it be something in PT settings that i have to change? Everything works for me in Samplitude but not in PT.
