  • Is the Epic Orchestra upgradable??

I was wondering if the free Epic Orchestra that is included with Vienna Ensemble Pro is capable of upgrades?

I'm new to VSL and I'm trying to figure out which library to start off with. I have a pretty tight budget right now and I don't know weither I should get VE Pro (for the epic orchestra) or if I should get the Special Edition Library. If I got the special edition, I would only be able to afford a couple of the download collections right now (I'm leaning towards the brass-standard and woodwinds-full). The strings I use sound decent enough for the time being so I don't really NEEEEED a string library at the moment. Although Vienna strings would be nice to have. I REALLLLY want the fanfare trumpets too so Id probably end up purchasing those as an individual download.

The Epic Orchestra seems really cool considering that its a full orchestra and includes the fanfare trumpets, but it seems somewhat limited as far as articulations and since the strings and woodwinds are mapped as one ensemble over the keyboard. It seems to me that the special edition would be better to have in the long run since you can always upgrade to more articulations and instruments, unless the epic orchestra is upgradable too? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
