Dave - a wild guess: Did you update the eLicenser software recently? If you didn't please give it a try.

updated to the latest e-licenser still same error message twice this morning. It's the standard windows message that the programme has encountered a problem and stopped working and has to close. I thought that sent an automatic error message to you guys. perhaps it doesn't. Is there a report file you would like me to send. I'll have to revert to the previous releases.

Hi! Those automatic error reports are only sent to Microsoft.

I would be great if you could tell me at which time you get the crash exactly. Please have a look at the splash screen - do you see a status message (like "starting audio engine") before the crash happens?

What kind of audio interface do you use in your machine? Did you get the "Audio Settings changed" dialog when starting Mir 1819 for the first time?

I have rolled back to the previous version.

It got passed the audio engine starting it usually occured just after the default scene loaded but once got further and happened when I was loading a saved template. The message was that the programme had encountered a problem and would have to close. It happened 5 or 5 times.

The previous version works fine.

I use an M-Audio 2496

I am loading 80 VI PRO inst split in 8 VE PRO.

I have only problems :

- When I load my project I have "Error accessing eLicenser USB dongle" twice

- It looks that the loading is fast, but when you start to play only a few % of the inst are loaded.

- I get crackle, instruments are not playing, notes are missing 

- My project, just loaded, not playing  that was using 40-50 % CPU is now on 70 -80

- After 30 minutes it is still loading and show that only 55 % is loaded

When I have upgraded my 12 GB project to use VI PRO I got a few crash with not more memory left over 24 GB, because the software does not free space memory

The project is now completely loaded, no more cracles

Cpu is 10/20 % (not playing) 50/60 % playing

So there is no improvement on the loading, it takes twice the time of the previous version.

Interesting comment.

I exeperience the same thing. After start, the Vienna Ensemble window comes up pretty fast but it takes very long time until all instruments are loaded. As Cyril says, longer than before.

I've thought that maybe this is just the way it is. But is it so?

I also find that 7556 takes literally twice as long to load as 6853. That's with Vienna Instruments also updated to 7303.

Also, 7556 will not auto load metaframes saved under 6853 (on mac 10.6.4, using Login Items to auto load metaframes). It does, oddly, load them manually. Weird.

I have immediately rolled back to 6853 and VI version 5740. I don't have time to beta around the bush.

What is automatic channel focus?  Where can I get tech info on it.

 Hi Gavin,

automatic channel focus is useful when you are soloing an instrument in your Sequenzer for editing and programming.

When just one channel is now sending midi data to VE PRO this channel is automatically selected and you don't have to this manually.

I think it's very useful because it enables to stay more on focus on you sequenzer, and you can always check what's going on VI aor VI PRO without switching with mouse or keyboard shortcuts.
