• Strange VEP issue with Logic

Hi I'm having a very strange issue with Vienna Ensemble Pro and was wondering if someone could help me. I've managed to get Vienna Ensemble Pro working with Logic 9. I setup an orchestral template with 11 instances of VEP and everything loads and works great. But now I have a very strange issue. Now whenever I goto load another instance with VEP, the slave computer's network IPs no longer show up in the VEP window anymore. Its just blank white. Usually it shows all the slave instances I can choose from or create a new one. So I tried loading a new blank logic session and same thing, no slave computers show up anymore at all. However, my huge 11 instance template DOES load up fine, so Logic is still seeing it, but I can no longer add anything because nothing shows up in the VEP window anymore. Everything was working fine for a while and now this. Any ideas? Perhaps I updated some software somewhere that is causing this. Here are my specs Logic 9.1.3 (32bit) - iMac 2.93 Ghz Intel Core i7 - 8GB RAM - OS X 10.6.5 - Mbox 3 Mini (3rd Gen) USB - G Raid Mini Firewire 800 for audio - Vienna Ensemble PRO build 7384 - Kontakt 4 / Spectrosonics / EW PLAY v2.0.25 - Altiverb 6.3.5

  • Hi wanted to bump this just in case. Is there any reason why VSL slaves no longer show up but my session still loads? Anyone? Any piece of software or setting that could keep Logic from seeing VSL all of the sudden? My firewall is off. I'm grasping at straws here. No one in Logic land seems to know - this forum is my only hope. Thanks so much, any help is very much appreciated

  • Hi Passenger,

Not that we're ignoring you, it’s just that most of us Logic users (or at least I get that impression) are using Logic 64 bit.

    Hopefully someone will chime in!

  • Thanks - I switched to 64bit. I'm hiring someone to stop by my studio who knows about VEP and Logic so hopefully we will figure it out

  • It was Airport. Turned it off and now VEP is happy again.
