  • Missing output format

I was loading up a MIR file that I had not opened for many months and I received this message:

The output format used in this MIR project (Stereo X-Y wide MozartSM2) could not be found.

The rest of the message said to check the Output Folder under Options-Preferences-General.

I seems to recall this microphone setting when I first started using MIR, but I cannot find it now.

I'm using MIR 1810. I reinstalled MIR, but the same message appears.

    What's going on?

  • Strange - I can load this Output Format without any problems here.

A wild guess: Did you change the Output Format when you were orginally working on the Project?  In that case the modified version should resided in the Output Format Folder. Did you open this folder already? Is everything there that you expected to see?

Please remember: Output Formats are _not_ saved as part of a MIR Project, as they are considered to be system-relevant information. Only a link to the used Output Format is saved in the Project itself.

We will investigate your problem nonetheless. ... the worst thing that could happen is that I will send you the Output Format File; you would have to copy it to the appropriate folder manually then. :-)

    Kind regards,

  • When I look under preferences I see references to the following directories:

    Mir Data (.vmi files)
       C:\Program Data\VSL \Vienna Mir

    Output formats:folder
       C\Users\Mark\AppData\Local\VSL\Vienna Mir\Output Formats

When I try to browse these in MIR the directory does not open and  I cannot find these directories on my hard drive when I look for them. What's wrong here? Did I move some files? Why can't I find the output format directory with its contents? Even if you sent me the files, I would not know where to install them.

Were there two Mozart designated output formats? I seem to recall that there two and they are not listed

Other than this, MIR appears to be functioning.

  • The folder is a system folder, and depending on your Explorer-settings it may be hidden.

And yes, there were two dedicated Output Format examples for the Mozart-Saal. But as long as you didn't  change them, they should be part of the basic installation and known to the MIR engine.

  • I was able to reveal all the hidden directories. When I open the Output Format there's nothing in it.

  • That's ok as long as you didn't create your own Output Formats.

  • Hi Marko,

this year in June we decided to move the room related output formats from the Mir installer to the individual Roompack installers. This was necessary to avoid Mir installer updates due to new output formats and to make sure everybody sees only those output formats he can actually use.

I guess you've updated Vienna Mir since June 2010, but not the Konzerthaus Roompack.

If you install the latest Konzerthaus Roompack, everything should be fine and you should see the Mozartsaal formats again in the output format list.

If you don't want to download the whole installer just because of an output format, I could send you the files via email. Just save them in your custom output format folder and things should be fine as well.

I'm sorry for the troubles you have! This step was required at some point, but we should have put an appropriate hint or warning somewhere.
