Protools 9 and VEP
Hi I'm a Cubase/PC user and am considering moving to Protools 9. Was wondering if anyone here is using Protools and what I should expect moving my setup to a non VST based program. Does Vienna Ensemble Pro support Protools? Thanks so much - I'm in uncharted territory here.

VE Pro runs as an RTAS plug-in in Pro Tools 9, so you should be good to go. In fact, I just installed Pro Tools 9 and so far VE Pro runs fine with Pro Tools, just as it did with my other DAW.
One thing you may need to tweak is the number of processors that Pro Tools 9 uses. I needed to reduce mine to 4 so that it wouldn't constantly complain about CPU overloads. I'm running PT9 entirely native with an Apogee Ensemble, so it relies completely on the Mac Pro's CPUs.
Likewise, you may need to change the Multiprocessing settings in VE Pro to reduce the number of threads each instance uses.
Hope this helps.
