  • Native Instruments and VEPro

Well... Vienna Pro is a very handy piece of software even without Epic Orchestra, which by the way on its own is worth the price of admission.

All works... all of the Spectrasonics instruments, Lounge Lizard, BFD well except ALL of my native instruments plugins running on a slave machine. Any Ideas?

The setup is a G5 slave with 10 gigs of RAM and a Macbook Pro 2.66 core 2 duo with 8 gigs of ram. As I said, all my other plugins run fine. Open any NI plug and the world as we know it ends... And yes they open fine in Logic 9 on the G5.

    Thanks

    Jim

  • I rely pretty heavily on NI Kontakt 3.5 or 4 and Kore 2, with a number of other NI things potentially plugged into Kore 2. I've not had a lot of issues myself.

Are the NI versions you use set to use multiprocessing support? That is problematic for VE Pro, so don't use it. In fact, multiprocessing support is intended for standalone use only really. I only see you say they open just fine in Logic 9. They would open no problem with multi support enabled I think, but there will be issues to crop up while using. This is the first place I'd look if it's completely NG: Don't Work for VE Pro.

Also, are you using Logic on the other more current machine? Is your G5 a PPC, on a Motorola chip? IF so, are the NI instruments you have compatible with a non-Intel processor?
