  • Master Mac and slave connections

I have a Mac Pro 2.26 Nehalem (slave) which is connected directly into my Mac Pro 3.33 Westmere (master) via ethernet.

The System Pref's > Network on the Master Mac is set to "Using DHCP with manual address" 192.168.1.100

The System Pref's > Network on the Slave Mac is set to "Using DHCP with manual address" 192.168.1.101

Is this correct? I was using an Apple Extreme and it automatically established an IP address, but the AE might be giving me some grief, so a direct connection should be better.

    Thanks!

  • Anyone?

  • I'm not at my studio to check exactly right now But I am sure that having both an active ethernet and wireless net connection on the slave has giving me nothing but trouble. Use one computer for the net (the master) and keep the slave on the ethernet.

  • The master computer is the only one with the active ethernet connection (wired). I'm not using the slave for any sort of ethernet connect. I was just wondering if my settings above are correct when connecting a slave to the master.

  • Yes, your settings seem to be correct.

  • Great. Thanks!
