  • Advice needed on Blue Sky monitoring systems

    Hi!

I got an offer to buy a used Blue Sky Pro Desk 2.1 system for about 500 euros (700 dollars), and I'm wondering wheter or not this would be a good deal.

I've been looking at Blue Sky systems for a while now, but I found very little info on the Pro Desk system. This particular system is said to be about 2 years old, and have not been used much. So atleast I think the price is quite good.

Does anyone have any experience with this system?

    Thanks

    Hi Tom,

it's no big secret on these pages that I've always been a big fan of BlueSky monitors -> see this article. - I've heard most of their small and mid-range systems, and I worked professionally on MediaDesk and One systems (both in stereo and surround).

Soundwise, it's hard to get something better for the same amount of money. Especially in acoustically suboptimal locations it's much easier to work on a BlueSky system due to the closed design and the focused LF.

You have to be aware, though, that there where whole production runs of certain components that were faulty, that's why BlueSky lost a bit of faith amongst professional users. But to my experience BlueSky (as a company) have been very helpful in finding solutions for these cases.
