  • Triangle and Cymbal rolls

I want timed rolls (standard rolls) to stop (dampen) immediately at the end of the notated note. But there only seems to be a long or short release (A/B switch) which allows the cymbal/triangle to ring on after the end of the written note. I want the cymbal/triangle to be damped and stop ringing immediately at the end of the written note. The dynamic rolls have a release dampen (as it were) but the standard roll does not.

    Am I doing something wrong?

  • Hi David!

You could simply turn the Release Sample off. It's also possible to assign a MIDI Controller for turning it on and off. In VI that can be done on the Perform/Map Control page. In VI Pro that can be done on the Advanced/Ctrl Map page.

    Best regards,
    Andi
