  • Audio input to MIR SE

I am just loving my new MIR SE.  I have just completed a commission for a large orchestral backing track, and MIR makes the orchestra sound so real - much more 'air' and cleaner relationships between the instruments than using a convolution reverb and panning for the individual instrument.

Do you know what would be great - if MIR would accept an audio file as an input.  I am thinking here of a vocal recording (I am and Opera singer) which can be placed on the stage in MIR and moved around just like the midi instruments are.

Meantime, I will just carry on using my convolution reverb on my vocal track to mix it in with the orchestral backing the best I can!

  •  This is a planned feature for MIR Pro.

However, in the interim, why not record your audio, split it up into phrases and then import it into Kontakt? Then you can set a keyswitch for each phrase (so you don't always have to go back to the beginning of the piece when mixing) and run around the virtual stage to your heart's content. [:D]

    DG

  • Awesome.  I hadn't thought of using Kontakt - I will go and have a play!

  • Basso, DG is right - audio inputs are a feature that definitely planned to be introduced with Vienna MIR Pro, along with a bunch of other enhancements and new possibilities.
