clicks, pops, audio drop outs in Pro Tools

Hello All, I've seen quite a few threads related to this subject, but no solutions that I can replicate here, so I thought I would bring it up again. I'm getting intermittant pops and clicks and audio dropping out, it's making my sessions unworkable. I'm using vienna ensemble pro as a host for a fairly sizeable orchestral template. I am running the 64 bit server on a mac pro 8 core machine with Pro Tools 8.4cs2 as the DAW, this setup is a once somputer solution, (with 18gigs of RAM). This system has been working very well for about 2 months now, until recently, and now works not really at all. The clicks, pops and drop outs are entirely attributable to VE pro, as when I map the same sounds to kontakt internally in pro tools, the performance is fine. Other things that have been brought up on this forum that are making no difference to me: multiprocessing is turned off in kontakt. I have tried every setting for multithreading in VE pro possible but and currently at 6 threads. Some people have posted that going back to build 6844 has make this problem go away, but it's no longer available to download and I no longer have the install for that version. Please help any one, I like this software a lot, but this has been impossible

Sorry to hear about these troubles. I assume that you´re working on OS X 10.6.4, is that correct?

Please contact with a few more details about what might have changed in your setup (OS, software versions), and when it started to get worse.

As you are using Kontakt: Did you disable the Kontakt Memory Server yet?

Thank you for responding, I have emailed support - I am using 10.6.4, and yes, I am using Kontakt with memory server disabled. The only recent change in this system is returning to Pro Tools 8.0.4 from 8.1
