  • This issue continues. 5 minutes ago, it hang at loading the first instance of Kontakt instruments. Now it is hanging on the 6th VE Pro instance. What is going on here, any clues?

  •  What OS?

    32bit server or 64bit server?

    Multiprocessing switched off in Kontakt?

    DG

  • Which host are you using as master host? There is a known issue with saving in Pro Tools with Kontakt 4 in VE Pro (which has been there since the beginning however). The upcoming update should fix this issue. At any rate, regardless of the host you're using, save Metaframes and VIFrames regularely. Some things are out of VE Pro's control, so saving backups is always a good idea.

  • Sorry,

32-bit server, Snow Leopard 10.6.4 - multiprocessing set to 4 cores in Kontakt.

  • Unfortunately not related to that. I am using Logic, but I am using the server so it is not a host related problem.

  •  Firstly set multiprocessing to off.

Next, are you using the Kontakt memory server?

    DG

  • Yes, using Kontakt memory server. Has never been a problem and without it I would hardly be able to load any samples.

OK I'll try setting it to 1 core in Kontakt and see if that helps.

  • 1) Do you not have an "off" in your engine settings?

    2) Is there no 64bit version of Kontakt for OSX then?

    DG

  • Ah yes, it is called "off" - turned it off now.

Kontakt doesn't show up in the 64-bit server here, no. And so doesn't tons of other plugins so I prefer to keep things 32-bit until all the plugins I use are 64-bit compatible.

  • Kontakt 4.1, 64-bit version will show as AU in VE Pro when it's installed as AU. There is no 64-bit version prior to that build.

It works perfectly here. It worked perfectly @ 3.5 with KMS* on. Exception: *KMS will not coexist with Play memory server here.

are you using it on a LAN? if so, are you using dynamic or fixed IP? I had similar issues until DG asked me that question.
