  • How do I "decouple" VE Pro?

    Hello,

Please forgive me but I cannot figure out how to "decouple" VE pro from Logic. I'm experiencing a major drag in performance (spinning beach balls just when deleting empty midi tracks) and have narrowed the problem to VE pro as this is the only 3rd party instrument I have open and this problem does not occur with logics own plugins/instruments.

I read on these forums that a solution is to "decouple" VE pro from logic, however I cannot find a "decouple" button anywhere, nor do I see any mention of "decouple" in the VE pro manual.

I feel like a complete idiot for not being able to figure this out! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. I tried turning off "preserve instance" button thinking this might be what you guys are referring to, but I still have major slugishness on my fresh installed, brand new refurbished 2.93 8-core Nehalem Mac Pro running all the most recent versions of Logic 9.1.3, VE pro, and OS 10.6.4. (can give more complete specs if necessary, and even a quicktime movie demonstrating the problem).

  • The Decouple button is on the GUI of the VE Pro Server Interface plugin. When enabled it will only save and load connection information and not the VE Pro instance project data. It is explained on page 17 of the VE Pro manual by the way ;)

  • THANKS!! Apparently I didn't have the most up-to-date version of the manual. Plus I was looking in the wrong place. Its located in the LOGIC plugin, not in the VE sever.

Thanks again!! That fixed my logic sluginess problem, though it takes a few min to open all the plugins and decouple them! I believe I saw in other threads this will be easier to do in the next update?

    THANKS AGAIN!!!

  • The next update of VE Pro will have a button on the VE Pro Server Interface plugin, which decouples all plugins in the project with one click. Stay tuned ;)

  • Awesome, you guys rock! Just found the button :D
