  • [SOLVED] Vienna Instruments pro Time Stretch error

I've just licensed VIpro, but when I try to timestretch patches I get the message: "Error while saving .........." (........ is the name of the patch). Can someone please help me with this??

  • Hello oa123,

Did you assign the Time Stretch Cache Folder in the VI PRO Directory Manager yet?

Might be that you´re running into permission issues there.

  • I went into the directory manager. Problem solved :-) Thanks for the quick reply.

  • I'm getting the same error message when I try to save a stretched patch.  I have specified the following paths in Vienna Instruments Directory Manager:

Time Stretch Cache Folder:  C:\Users\my profile name\AppData\Roaming\VSL\Vienna Instruments Pro\Stretch
Custom Data Folder:              C:\Program Files\Vienna Ensemble Pro\SIR Plugins

When I click the Stretch button I notice that the "Folder:" field says "(no folder name)".  Should it list the path specified in Directory Manager?

I then tried pasting the above Cache path into the "Folder:" field and clicking Stretch.  This is when I get the "Error saving patch" error. I did some experimenting and found that I got the error no matter what path I tried.  I checked security for the Cache folder and I have full access to it.

If I leave "(no folder name)" in the "Folder:" field and click Stretch there is no error, and the stretched patch is shown in the patch list.  However it is not a viable patch and it is not in the Cache folder:  a 1KB stub is created in the Custom Data Folder shown above.  (I discovered this by right-clicking on the stretched patch in the patch list and then clicking "Open Containing Folder".)

I'm running 64 bit Vista, fully patched.  I'm using the latest versions of Ensemble Pro and Instruments Pro downloaded from your website.  I'm trying to stretch the "10 VC_sus_Vib" patch of the Cello Solo.

I hope this is not too much information!  Looking forward to your reply.  Thanks,
    John

  • Hi John,

the stretched file will also be in the designated Time Stretch Cache Folder. Simply name the folder as you wish, e.g., "John", and this should work without any troubles.

The folder structure is meant to help you organize the time stretched patches.

    Best,
