    I updated to the newest Vienna Ensemble yesterday and the installation seemed to go fine. However, when I started the program in standalone mode, it froze while scanning VST's (after scanning about a dozen or so). Looking at task manager, the program was not responding, so I forced it to quit and tried again. The second time (and every subsequent time thereafter) it would stop responding as soon as it tried to scan VST's (strangely enough, it would start with a different VST every time, but would not get past the first one regardless). The same exact problem occurred in plugin mode-- booting up Live or ProTools, as they were scanning plugins while booting, as soon as they got to VE, VE would try to scan VST's and lock up (not even allowing me to get into my DAW). I've tried rebooting my computer to no avail. I also let it run in its "not responding" state, hoping it was working in the background, but after an hour there was still no sign of activity.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Did you update your eLCC software as well?

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for your reply! Yes, I did update the eLCC software.

    As an update, I also uninstalled and reinstalled VE with no difference. So, in the meantime I went back to the previous version, which loaded up flawlessly.

    Any other ideas?
