  • VSL on PC with no dvd drive /fire wire

My giga system runs on an pc without a dvd drive, nor does it have fire wire. I don't want to change anything on this system, it's running fine, so I don't want to touch it...

I'm interested in getting into the string collection, what are my options? How big are the giga instrument files, are they generally under 700 MB?

I'm thinking of breaking the dvd down into cd-roms on my my mac system and then transfering to the giga pc, if that works and if that's in agrement with the licence.

i'm afraid i have to say _no_ - what about transferring them over network?
there are USB-to-USB-cables out there which are working like the old PC-LINK (not too slow)
hmm - any SCSI-card in your PC to use an external DVD-drive?
there are adapters available for the parallel-port (althoug i really cannot recommend this)
last idea: use stuffit to create archives - it has the ability to split files into handy pieces (stuffit is also available for PC's)
