  • Export from Sibelius to DAW

    Hi all,

is there a way to export the score (via midi or xml or something else) from Sibelius to your DAW (e.g. Cubase) without losing the articulations? Some information concerning dynamics are directly included in the velocity. But an articulation information such as staccato is lost.

    Cheers,

    Sabine

  • Hello Sabine!

Yes, that can be done in the Export/MIDI file menu. Just make sure that the point "The current playback devices" is checked. Then all MIDI commands for articulation changes will be included in the generated MIDI file.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Did you verify this actually worked for you and what DAW did you import the file into?  I am curious because I haven't had to do this in ages but sometimes i just find Sibelius faster for inputting notes etc (when I am not inputing from live performance mode).

  • Yes, I tried it myself with Cubase. It shouldn't make a difference with which DAW you import the MIDI file.
