  • Connecting two computers for VE Pro

    Hello

I'm getting ready for connecting my G5 as a slave to my MacBook Pro. Still some doubts...

I've installed the last version of VE Pro in the MacBook and it works well. A second VE Pro is installed in the G5 (in wich I will write the second activation code I've got). I bought also a second Vienna Key (if I want to use VE Pro on both computer). I have all VSL Samples in an external HD and the VE Pro in the MacBook is "addressed" there with the Directory Manager (of course...).

    Now:

1- Do I have to "address" to the same place (the external HD) the VE Pro in the G5 too?

2- Do I have to install in the G5 also the VI and VI Pro (I already have them installed in the MacBook).

3- Do I need to install in the G5 all the plugins I have in Logic in the MackBook (Altiverb; Sonalksis etc.)?

4- If I will use two instances of VE Pro (32 and 64 bit), do they have to be launched both first in the G5, and than opened in Logic form the MacBook?

Sorry for so many question but still I don't have all things clear.

A good beer  for the help, and thanks a lot

  • Hello Roberto,

    1) You can only use 1 VI Collection license on 1 computer at a time. You will need the sample content of the given VI Collections assigned in the DM of each computer (best: available exclusively on each computer, not sharing a drive)  and the corresponding license of these VI Collections on the 2 keys for the different computers.

2)Yes, you need all software you want to use installed on both computers.

    3) If you want to use these plug-ins: Of course!

    4) Yes. I´d say: Just give it a try, and don´t forget to take a quick look in the manual from time to time [;)]

    Best,

    Paul
