Configuring Sibelius 6 with VSL

I've scoured the manual, and still can't figure out how to assign a patch per channel.

When I click on the "Show plugin's interface icon" and assign a patch, that patch is then what plays on all the channels.

I sure wish there were a step-by-step tutorial on how to do this. 

I use Logic, and have no problem making channel patch assignments, but Sibelius and VSL have me stumped.

Hello Alexis!

Please activate Vienna Ensemble in Sibelius. For every instance you activate, you will have 16 channels available.
If you haven't done so yet, you can download Vienna Ensemble at the following location:

With Sibelius please load the matrices that came with your Special Edition and not single patches or custom made matrices. Channel and program assignments in Sibelius are made in the Playback Devices/Manual sound sets menu.

Thanks for the quick tips, Andi.

With no problem at all, I have just configured—with your help—Finale to play VSL.

(I'm trying to decide between the two programs).

But Sibelius is proving a bit more tricky.

I've followed all the steps, I think, but still Sibelius won't play the VSL patches.

Hello Alexis!

Can you describe your problem a bit more in detail?
Could you activate Vienna Ensemble (VE)?
Did you make channel and program settings on the Manual Sound Sets page?
What did you load with VE?
Is VE receiving MIDI data?
