License question

I know I need the vienna key to run the server side of things but I was just reading the quick start guide and it talked about the permanent license as well. I'm wondering if a license can be removed and put on a different machine to act as a server. I was under the impression the vienna key acted as a dongle so if it was plugged in and the software was installed, you could you that machine as a server. is that not the case? Just curious how the licensing works. thanks.

That´s how it works, you´re right: You take your key with a license and connect it to any computer that also has the software and samples installed, and that´s it.
