I've had great success using VE Pro on a single Mac. Now I'm adding a second Mac in another room and the connection works great (MIDI & Audio work fine). However, I can't view VE Pro and the instruments on the slave machine the way I can on the local one. Hitting the VE button (next to decouple) on the connection to the host server opens VE Pro and lets me view the mixer and instruments. However, when I hit the VE button for the slave machine, nothing happens. I have to run into the other room and check the project to see the patches and key switches. This can't be the best way.
So, how are others viewing or keeping track of patches and key switches on a slave?
It seems that (from the host) you should be able to actually open the VE Pro mixer and instrument connected to a slave. Otherwise its very difficult to make changes and to use many instruments and programs that require visual feedback.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Isn't there a way to edit the slave VE Pro and instruments from the host? Or do you have to set the slave template up first, and then just use as a blind plug and play?
