  • VE Pro_Help about Preserved Instances

    Hallo

I'm learnig VE Pro in Logic. Nearly everithyng seems to work great. As long as I create my Proj. in Logic, instanciate VE Pro  as plug in, save VE as vframe, close everithing, reopen everithing: PERFECT.

But if i try the other way:

    1- open the Server

2-create there, let's say, 3 instances (say: strings, flute, epic)

3-open Logic with a multitibral track and and instanciate, say, string.

4-Save Logic as "String" (and I let it open)

5-The same I do with "flute" and "epic"

5-I check the switching from one proj. to the other and it works great.

6-So I save the metaframe (with all 3 VE Pro instances opened, as the manual says). The ".mframe" goes in VE Pro > Application, together with all others vframe (strange place!).

7-I close everything  and open again. First the server than the Logic projects. In the server the plug is connected, Logic opens, the Preserved icon is beautifully red, ...BUT I hear a little click, in the VE Pro Mixer some red spot appears and NO SOUND AT ALL. No way!

I read 57 time the manual (pag. 11) where it describes this process. I wonder wich word I don't understand.

If you can help me I promise not to suicide for a while...

    Thanks a lot

    Roberto

  • Hallo

I'm glad to say that I solved the problem. It was not a VE Pro problem but the fact that I was putting the first note in the tracks JUST on the very beginning of the track, so that Logic coudn't read all the necessary information before. Moving all first notes a little bit forward has solved the problem and now also the "mysterious" Preserve function works as you promise in the manual.

I lost two days for such a stupid mistake!

Hope this can avoid the same to somebody else.
