I tried the demo version of cubase 5 with 5.5.1 latest update, and had a problem with the "SHIFT" key :
Description : 1.Add a track with VI PRO in cubase 5.5.1 -> 2. Get into VI PRO (64bit) ->
3. Load a matrix or what ever -> 4.Go to Matrix control and try to change the X-Axis Key switch and type
C#2 for instance, and it will show C22.
-This bug is related to the 64 bit version of Vienna Instruments Pro under Cubase 5.5.1, it doesn't happen
with other softwares like Sonar or Studio One.
-Other plug ins (64bit - NI KOMPLETE 6 for example) don't have this issue.

VI PRO + CUBASE 5.5.1 -64 bit BUG

Hello mj77
I suspect that it isn't a bug.
Try to insert either C#1 or C#3 within Cubase. C1 of Cubase is probaly C2 within VIPro.
That's a an old difference between the "parents" of the "Midi-Standard".
So both are right Cubase and VIPro...
Good luck
