    Hi guys from Athens! 

    I recently tried the VI Pro and I decided to buy this product 'cause it's like giving you the possibility to have differents orchestras (by the dynamic way the musicians respond in your phrases, by the different approach of the legatos, by the unbelievable amount of controllers, just to mention few reasons for my opinion.

    But from the trial period till now I founded some serious problems concerning the repetitions-mostly the 2nd rep.- from samples that I 've never had such problems. And I say from samples that I 've never had such problems because from the first moment I bought the Cube I found a problem like this in G5 of the celesta A but I managed to overcome this problem changing the velocity and getting another sample, healthier sample.

    But now I think this problem with the new software is getting worst. The problem is when I play f.ex. a solo vln stacc Perf rep. there are 4 rep. samples. In the second mf or f sample I take the sound of B.Drum instead of a Vln stacc. Of course I always try to achieve my purpose but as you can think you can't get many thinks if you have to do it over and over again through different samples and in different dynamic stages.

    I 'm sending you some examples of this problem to find out what's wrong with it guys.

    1)Solo Vln Pef rep. noteE5 (2nd rep. gives me a B.Drum)

    2)Fl 1 sfz noteG4 (2nd rep.gives me a Vcl)

    3)Celesta A sustain noteF6 forte (gives me Fl or Ob. like)

    4)Celesta A sustain noteC4 (gives me Vcl.)

    There are problems also with samples of Solo Vla and Vcl too.

    Could you explain me If I did anything wrong or there are some bugs as it happens usually with new s/w? Except this problem the VI pro +VE pro are the best products for making serious job with sample orchestras.

    I own a Vienna Cube + Solo Strings II. I work on two Mac's (Pro & G5) mostly with Logic.

    Hi Giannoulis,

     

    That sounds very weird indeed - in fact, I cannot reproduce this behaviour with the patches you mentioned and I scratch my head what could possibly cause this on your system...

     

    We will definitely investigate and look into this - has anybody else here experienced similar oddities with VI Pro?

    Hi...I'm having what i believe to be a similar problem and it does appear to be getting worse.  I've been noticing it from time to time and have now started documenting the occurences.  One such instance is as follows:  Using the Solo Violin preset in Universal mode(C2), with the Y axis in "B" playing key D5,the first sound heard is what sounds like a Xylophone or maybe a Marimba.  After the initial hit than the violin sound plays. This happens at most velocity levels exept for very hard or very soft. I have a video of this on my iphone if you think it will help you...I'll send it.  Also, Chamber Cello, when playing C3 coming from Bb2 in Universal mode with Y axis "B". I'm using Logic on an 8 core 2.0 GHz  Intel Mac. I say the problem seems to be getting worse because I am finding more and more instances when this happens. However, while writing this email I reopened Logic to verify the notes I was using and it is now not doing it.  Prior to this email I also restarted my computer as logic had crashed on me trying to open an older session.  Perhaps the crash and restart had a cleansing effect?
