Hi there,
I know the info is probably here somewhere, but the search function is not proving very helpful. I have a couple of questions regarding a setup for a VE pro slave.
I’ve got my main Mac (2x3ghz 2008 mac pro with leopard) talking to my slave (new mac mini with snow leopard) over ethernet, but I remember people saying you should manually assign IP addresses etc for more stability. Is there a guide anyway on how to do this, what settings to use etc? And should I get a router for the most reliable / fastest connection? I am considering getting another slave machine if it works out but at the moment I only have the one.
Also, I can do successful screen sharing once I have booted up the mac mini with a screen, mouse and keyboard attached, but not if it’s just connected via ethernet without keyb / mouse / screen of it’s own. The Mac Pro doesn’t ‘see’ the mac mini until I plug in the mini’s own screen. My plan is to have the mac mini only attached to an external hard drive and to the main computer using an ethernet cable, and set up VE pro as an autostart item etc. Is this possible, or do I need to get Mac Remote Desktop as well?
Thanks in advance for any tips.
Best,
David

Nobody got any suggestions? Are people using 'headless' macs (e.g. no monitor and keyb/mouse) as VE Pro slaves successfully? I'm sure they must be! Any tips on settings much appreciated.
