  • VI Pro Logic Automation mapping?

    Hi Guys,

Wonder if you could put Logic Automation mapping on your long list of feature requests?

In Logic switching between standard track automation and midi automation (hyper-draw) is a bit of a pain as hyper-draw won't display until the track automation display is switched to off. It is, operationally, very streamlined to control the plug-in parameters directly from the track automation which is possible for a number of instruments (Omnisphere, RMX)

The plug has an enable host automation setting then up to 127 named (these display with the automation) parameters can be written directly in the track.

Be great if this useful feature could be activated.

    Thanks

    Julian

  • Should have looked further on the forum!!

However midi is a somewhat old system and certainly you can find yourself without controllers or keyboards to hand yet still wanting to do serious music production. Also if you're not a slave to templates track automation is way quicker to set up as it's already there and mapped.

Logic on my system handles track automation much more reliably and accurately than midi automation (midi doesn't always pick up the automation straight away particularly if it is on a slope between nodes).

Also track automation lends itself to more extreme and quicker automation changes than midi.

So yes I hear what's being said on the other thread but please if possible keep the track automation on the front burner.

    Thanks

    Julian
