  • Tuning and Humanise presets not included with VEP

    Hello and great work on VIP. The features really do breathe new life into the already excellent VSL libs. I have a small problem though;

    I don't need VIP, only VEP (with VIP in it). I installed the latest VEP and had my demo licence for VIP on a connected key, but there were no presets for tuning or humanise available. I had to install VIP to get access to the tuning & humanise presets. They now turn up in both applications. Is there a reason they weren't included in the VEP installation?

    It's obviously not a major problem but I thought it may be something you'd overlooked. The problem occurs on both OSX & Windows.

    Thanks and keep up the good work!

  • Hello mosso,

    Thanks for your feedback!

    if you want to use VI PRO, you need a license for it - also in VE PRO.

  • Hi Paul and thanks for the prompt reply. I have a licence for VIP and VEP. My point was that the humanise and tuning presets aren't included with the the version of VIP that is embedded within VEP.

    Sorry, maybe my explaination was too long winded! It's a small thing with an easy work around but I just thought I'd mention it in case you're not aware of it.

    Thanks again,

    Martin

  • Hi Martin,

    I just checked on my computers again: Humanize presets are there in VI PRO within VE PRO, in both the 6776 build and 6844.

    Is there something I´m missing?

  • Hi Paul,

    The order I did things in was as follows;

    1. Uninstall VEP. Upgrade eLicenser.

    1. Install VEP (6776). Download trial licence for VIP. VIP (within VEP) works but no presets are there.

    2. Bought a full licence (and thanks for the Flugelhorn btw!). Still no presets appear.

    3. Install VIP (6776). VIP presets appear in VEP.

    So the workaround is to install VIP, even if you don't need it. Maybe it's just me that's come across this and it hasn't happened to anyone else. Am I really the only one who uses only VEP on slave machines?

    Thanks again for responding so promptly.

    I´m confused - there are no tuning and humanize presets available if VI PRO is not available....

    But if I understand  you correctly, everything works now, right? [:)]

  • Are you thinking that VIP is included as a part of VEP which isn't the case? VIP is a plugin that can be used in VEP or in a sequencer. Why would you need the presets on a slave that isn't using VIP? The presets don't work in anything else than the VIP.

  • Hi,

    the reason for this confusion is that VI PRO is indeed implemented in VE PRO, by design. And if you have, .e.g, a 180 starts demo-license or a VI PRO demo license on your key, WITHOUT having VI PRO installed, you can use VI PRO, but the presets and scales are not available.

    I agree that this can be confusing (took me a while as well) - these presets and scales will be added in one of the next updates. In the meantime, please install VI PRO and everything will work as expected [:)]

  • Hi Paul and thanks again. Yes it is a bit confusing to explain as VIP is included with VEP - all you need is a licence key. But yes, all is working and congratulations again on a great bit of software.
