  • Question about Performance in Logic

How the new VI Pro AU in Logic 64 bit will stand compared to it's integration in VE Pro 64 bit. Will the performance (CPU/RAM) will be comparable or it will be better to use it in VE Pro? I'd prefer to use it as a plugin rather than in VE Pro but for now I can load much more track in VE Pro. My setup usualy ask for 25 VI. The individual freeze fonction, bounce in place, volume automation, simpler routing/bussing are the main reasons I wish to use the plugin. But VE Pro is so more efficiant and I think maybe It's the  latency buffer (1buffer, 2 buffer) that does the trick.

  • Running VI Pro integrated in VE Pro is a bit more efficient in terms of memory use. It uses around 20MB less memory per VI Pro instance compared to running it as a plugin. Apart from that, it should be about the same.

  • Ok, thanks for the reply!

  • Also I forgot to mention that in VE Pro you have the ability to set master tune for all VI/VI Pro instances at once, as well as optimize all VI/VI Pro instances at once.

  • Does VE pro distribute to all CPU cores, including hyperthreading cores? If VEP does, that's another reason to consider it.
