    The manual states that the audio and midi preferences must be the same for all instances on all computers in a system.

    Does this really mean that if one computer is a four core and one computer is an 8 core, that the max you can set the VE Pro prefs "threads" on the 8 core computer is 4 cores?  You can't, for instance, set the prefs on the 8 core machine to 6 cores and have the prefs on the 4 core machine set to 3?

    Both machines would have to be 2, 3 or 4? Leaving you at the mercy of the lowest powered computer in your system as far as "threads" goes?

    No, this doesn't apply to the threads setting. Just the amount of networked audio and MIDI ports should be set to the same amount.
