  • Presets not loading

Am having trouble getting the presets and patches to show up in the VSL player when I open an old or new project in Cubase. Ive tried re-starting Cubase/PC and rescaned the library directory. I installed the latest E-licenser too but still no luck. Any ideas what else I could try?

  • Hello Tim,

I assume that you are working on OS X and that you upgraded to the latest version of the Vienna Instruments player.....

If that is the case, the following information from the Download Section in the User Area applies:

If you are upgrading from an older version, please open and save your songs with Vienna Instruments 2.0 build 4017 first, available in the Archive below.
Then upgrade to the latest Vienna Instruments Software."

  • Thanks for the reply Paul,

I'am using XP SP2 and have the latest version of the player installed. I think I located the problem; it seems that the Automap version of the VSL player will not recognise any presets whereas when I reverted to the original vst it loaded the presets as normal in cubase

  • Hi Tim,

hm, that´s strange. Did you report that to Novation?

  • Seems to work fine without the automap version but if it starts acting up ill check with novation support

  •  Greetings,

I need to resurrect this post as I am having the same issue and have no previous version to which I can revert. If I open VSL as a standalone version, my downloaded instrument presets show up. If I open it withing PT 8, they will not, only the DVD instrument presets. I REALLY need to complete this project by Monday, so I'm a little worried. I'm using XP SP2.

    Any ideas?

    Hello Bobby,

Please make sure that you are using the latest eLCC and ALL the latest VSL software.

We have updated the copy protection, so all parts (protection software and the protected software) need to be updated! After this, please restart your computer, and everything should work just fine!

    Hope that helps!

    Best,

    Paul

  •  Thanks Paul,

It was, indeed, the eLicencer software. I installed the latest version which got everything working consistently.

  • Hi

I have a similar problem. On PC, Win XP SP2. Cubase 5.5.2 build 637. eLicencer version 6.1.4.1050

Bought chamber strings and installed yesterday. Also updated vi player to newest version.

THEN the only instruments available were the new chamber str. And not existing orch strings, wood winds, brass.

Then I installed old vi player. Now existing orch strings and woodwinds are available, but not existing brass. Also only new chamber strings 2 available, meaning only muted patches.

I did run the directory manager and had to manually point at each folder for existing file folders - which worked before. All folders now recognized by directory manager - but not inside Cubase / vi player.

I am puzzled - please help.

    Hello Jorgen,

This should definitely work with the latest versions of our software.

Please open the Directory Manager again, "remove" all folders and add them again by drag and drop. That should do the trick.

    Best,

    Paul
