  • Cubase 5.5 on 64bit - Win 7 dont render VE-Pro Projects

I hope this is just a tiny Problem, but meanwhile I can render for instance Kontakt or other Plugs of the 64bit-Win7 Sequencers-System. VE Pro Projects dont render anything at all neither in wave nor in mp3-format. I was quite astonished about, because I had no Problems to program and listen a Project I made just with to slaves.

Any suggestions, which setting I should care for?

  • Could you give a detailed description of your setup? If you're using the VE Pro Server, rendering audio from Cubase should work without problems.

  •  Hi Karel,

Here is the Setup you demanded:

It is just Cubase 5.5 on the host and VE with VI's on the slaves. the slaves are all 64bit Vistas (with 8GB RAM each) the Sequencer is also 64bit Win7. All rendered allready large Projects without any Problem before I updated the whole System (from Vista to Win/ and Cubase 5 to C 5.5).

I just tested the Problem with a new Project, to verify, that the Problem is not related to any Aspect of a certain Project.

It is absolutly the same Problem others seem to have with Kontakt. But I dont use any Kontakt in my Projects at all. And for me it even does not change the problem when I use the earlier Version of the VE Pro.

As the People with the Kontakt-Renderproblem I am also able to render in realtime, but even that is not that sure, since even than some of the first notes of one or another of the slaves are also not rendered. The workaround for me is now to start the renderprocess a long time before the Piece really beginns, render the whole as wavefile into the Project, cut of the long empty recording before the piece and render this again. That is awful and I hope you manage to repair VE as soon as possible.

I attached a Screenshot with a mp3 file which has not rendered anything for the first minute and than starts with just one Slave, while the others join in even later.

I hope that might help you to fix the VE-Pro/Cubase 5.5-Renderproblems soon.

  •  Have you tried rolling back to VEPro 4.0.5436 as mentiuoned in this post:

    http://community.vsl.co.at/forums/t/25830.aspx

  • This issue seems to only happen with Kontakt. And even with Kontakt I haven't been able to reproduce it here. The difference between 5436 and later versions is that VE Pro notifies the hosted plugins of entering mixdown (render/bounce) mode. A realtime bounce should also circumvent the issue until we figure out why Kontakt behaves like this for some users.

  • Hi beatpete,

Yes, I tried it with the older Version of VE as mentioned above, and that doesn't help anything at all.

  •  Hi Karel,

Why don't you answer at all?

Is there any information missing, you asked for?

As you can see, this VE-Audioexport-Problem is obviously not at all related to Kontakt, since I dont use any. Perhaps it is less a Kontakt-Problem than a Cubase 5.5-VE Pro problem. At least the results here seem to be quite similar to the so called Kontakt-Problem.
