    I have Finale 2008b. Recently I also bought VSL Special Edition and downloaded Vienna Ensemble. But if I open Finale any time, I find that Vienna Ensemble opens too, and I have to wait for it to authenticate before Finale finishes opening. I don't want to use VSL/Ensemble in Finale (yet) but how can I prevent this happening? Any help greatly appreciated!

    There is a free program called Audio Unit Manager that lets you "turn off" specific VST/AUs for different applications.

    I used this program with Finale 2008 for this reason. Works really well and is easy to use.
