How to set up VSL as a VST instrument in CUBASE 5 (Windows)
Hello, VSL doesn't appear as a VST instrument in Cubase 5. (It was already asked for mac user but not for a pc user) I do not find the VSL VST plugin to set up in Cubase 5. Where can I find this plugin and how to add it to Cubase 5? I'm using Windows 7 (64bits) Thanks a lot for your help. Regards Matthieu

1. Make sure that you've installed the Vienna Instruments (*.dll) in the correct folders
Program/Steinberg/VstPlugins/Vienna Instruments x64.dll
Program(x86)/Steinberg/VstPlugins/Vienna Instrument.dll
(Perhaps you have both of the VI.dlls in the same folder)
2. Open Cubase / Geräte (which means "equipment" or a similar expression in the english version)
3. Click on "Plugin Information"
4. You should find now "Vienna Instruments x64" in Cubase 64Bit. Activate the VIx64 with tick if it isn't already done.
If you can't find the Vienna Instrument click on "aktualisieren" (update? - above)
If you still doesn't get the VI set the folder of the VIx64 with the possibility "VST 2xPlugin path" (the switch below VST Plugins)
After that it could be a good advice to restart cubase once more.
Then press F11 and insert the Vienna Instrument [:)]
Hope that helped

If you haven't done so already, I encourage you to check out Vienna Ensemble which you can download from your the software tab in the user area.
I was somewhat reluctant to try it out at first, but after taking the time to install it and learning to use it (no more than 10-30 minutes of work), there's no going back. It will make your life a lot easier, at least if you're dealing with a lot of instances of VI in your projects.
