Hi everyone
I tried to search for an answer for my question but could not find any, maybe someone here can help me.
Is the only difference between Solo Strings I and Solo Strings II (full = "Standard + Extended for both)is that the later is played with mutes? Do they share the same set of articulations or are there more new articulations in Solo Strings II?
And, would the answer to these questions apply for all other members of the strings family that contain I and II sections?
Thanks in advance for any input

Solo Strings I & II Differences

Solo Strings II has not got the full set of articulations that Solo Strings I do.
For a comparsion, check these links:

Not according to my understanding, no.
I do not own Solo Strings II, as personally, for my style of music, I don't see any particular use for muted Strings. I can really recommend Solo Strings I though. The quality is superb, and it has really breathed life into many of my projects! :)

Hamid,
Solo Strings I has the full complement of articulations whilst Solo Strings II has in fact somewhat less but all played con sordino (mutes). If you are writing for a Quartet and want to emulate mutes, the cheap way of doing it might be just to add an LPF during those sections though the sound is not the same. What is particularly interesting when using both Solo Strings I + II together is the dramatic decrease in volume between the con and senza sord. Of course if you want to maintain that level of realism you could add gain reduction during muted sections also. Excellent package by the way... I only wish other sets like the orchestral Strings were organised the same way (one set with all instruments player normal and the other with mutes instead of splitting the instruments in two.)
