    I like my piccolos to sound an octave above the midi note played. That way, in my DAW, I can copy the midi data of the Flute-1 or Vln-1 to the Piccolo track and it plays where I want it to. Same with the Double base, except I like it to sound an octave lower than played.

    How do I transpose a Special Edition instrument in Vienna Instruments?
