  • Problem Playing real time in VSL Pro

Hey all, using 4.0.5436 (just upgraded to 6150 with same probs) with Win 7 64bit.  I run Cubase (32 bit for now) on my main computer and have a bunch of slaves. I have my slaves and master computers hooked up to a netgear 16port switch.  I get crackles and pops whenever I play live.  On bounce, however, there are none.  Most of my Network cards are gigabit (maybe there is one that is 10/100) and I don't get any crackles when I play things locally (via Kontakt) on my main computer (which makes me think its a network problem).

Like I said, the pops don't happen unless I'm playing and recording live.  During Non-Real-Time Bounce they are not present.  Also they are not present when I play a local synth which implies that its not the soundcard.

Any help would be appreciated as I'm going batty with this problem.

  • Update:

Have tried DCPlat and my latency is pretty low.  Have uninstalled internet, disabled windows firewall.  Now instead of crackles and pops I just get complete dropouts for about a second at a time in bursts.

    thanks

  • If all your network cards are not Gigabit then I think that the network runs at the speed of the slowest one. I would make sure that all your cards are Gigabit.
