  • How can VSL Ensemble find the samples if moved to external HD

    Hi there,

I bought a big storage ( WD 800 Firewire 2 Tb) and copied the vienna files there (exept of the app's), in order to get some space for other samples.

VE can't locate than the samples ( I created files with the same title before I deleted them on the Computer HD.)

    What is the trick?

  • Remove all folders from Directory Manager and add them again,.

  • I tried - no succes, directormanager showed the files at the hd, but when I tried once in Logic, even by shutting down Logic, VE coudn't play the sounds.Any Idea what might have happened ?

    Hello Juda,

did you try a restart? Could there be any permission problems with your new harddrive or with the content folders?

The Directory Manager is pretty straight-forward. You can check out the Video Tutorial here.

    Best,

  • thank your for advises.Unforrunately I registered proper all products when I bought them, according to elicenser and the fact, that I use VE over a year now.The HD is pretty fast, and I unlocked the password (though I already was linked in with my computer.

At the moment I have a 12h day, so I write again after "playing arround" with your advises and devellop some spin offs.I write again what happened.

  • The securest way (on Mac OSX) I found was to create a folder on the external HD.I moved the samples there, select all, create alias. The alias go directly in a folder on the internal HD.Got this tip in a music shop; that is specialized in software and homestudio.

May be this is a little bit a dummy solution, but producing alias and moving the alias on the internal HD is a question of seconds and works fine.
