  • VSL Podcast update 03/JUL/2010

    Hi everyone,

Obviously the Podcast has been delayed .. again. Sorry to all who have sent me email telling me you are waiting for more shows. I have tried to do some but thus far it's been impossible to sit down and do anything of any consequence. Afterall, there seems little point me just telling you things like Industry news and such seeing as how most of you probably know that before I do.

I've always tried to incorporate music techniques into the shows and I'm learning things right now which I will talk about in future shows for certain (Just leaned a great technique in Pro-Tools for taking away signal clipping for instance), but I've also been extremely busy with writing music for film projects, and working on my first symphony .. which is very close now to being finished.

As some of you may know VSL are planning the Vienna Magazine and I'm contributing to that which I hope will go hand in hand with the Podcasts when I finally start them up again. So please bare with me .. I haven't given up .. I'm just on Hiatus for a bit longer :D Hope you are all having fun with your VSL instruments and wish you all success in your music projects. If you wish to follow my own musical progress I'm going to be putting some stuff on my website (www.hetoreyn.com) in the next month or so on my symphony project.

You can still view all the old podcast shows, interviews with composers and with VSL staff so if you've not heard these please head on over to my website and take a listen. The composer interviews are always worth a listen as these professionals provide not only inspiration but interesting discussion about the processes of film scoring. So far we have Jay Chattaway (Star Trek: TNG), Joel Goldsmith, (Star Gate SG1), John Frizzell (Alien Resurrection), Brian Tyler (Aliens Vs. Predator Reqiuem), and Greg Smith (Remastered Star Trek theme).
