Question about Mac OSX
Hello...I have read many pages of forum postings here in an attempt to avoid asking unnecessary questions, but no luck ,so here goes: For many reasons, I have yet to upgrade my Mac OSX to the current version. I am still running Tiger OSX 10.4.11 on an Intel 2Ghz Mac with 3 gig ram. (As soon as I move to Snow Leopard, ProTools8, etc, I will have to spend hundreds replacing my virtual instruments, and I'm in the middle of a large orchestral project, etc. etc,...) I would like to purchase the Solo Strings and run it in ProTools as a plug-in. Can anyone tell me what is the "minimum" Mac OSX I will need? I'm prepared for the fact that I might have to upgrade, but I'd kind of like to know this before I buy Solo Strings. I should add that I have scoured to VSL website, as well as several retailers, trying to simply find the software requirements for VSL products. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance. Glenn Hardy

Here are the specs for Solo Strings.

Keep this in mind though. I just looked in my user area and the NEWEST versions of the VI software interface require 10.5 or higher. That means, you would need to keep using the older version that came on the original DVD's. You will be unsupported for updates and support though. So basically you will need to update to at least 10.5 at some point to use these instruments with the newer engine updates. Maybe VSL can give you a copy of the last authentic supported version of the VI engine. I have no idea what version number that was.

Lol some! It actually got quite scary here for a while. Things are picking up again though :). It's still going to be bad for years to come though. It's so impossible to know where it's going to go anymore now. Might take a new style of car and energy source to revive it and god knows that will take a while to happen.
