  • MIDI & STEREO OP'S-STEREO FIELD

    RUNNING WINDOWS 7 i7, SONAR 8.5.

Hi out there. I'm a newbie to this forum.  I am just now beginning to explore the Orchestral libraries. I've just finished with the Tutorial Videos and manual and there are three things I haven't found (yet):

    1. How are Midi Channel assignments handled in the Vienna gui?

    2. How to set up Stereo Out Puts in Vienna to route to my DAW? I prefer 16 out for panning, etc.3. Are the Vienna libraries Stereo recordings?  And if so, are there any known issues when collapsing the field for panning and placements?

    Thanks in advance---

Hi garrcrowley and welcome in this Forum

    1. The Vienna Instrument (VI, the Sample Player) doesn't recognize any midi channel information.

You need a Vienna Intrument per voice or per Midi Channel. So the Midi Information should be separated by channels within your daw.

1b) You are able to insert Vienna Instruments within the Vienna Ensemble. There you can assign a Midi Channel each Vienna Instrument for controlling it.

Here you can see the difference between VI en VE

    2. Use the VI just as other VSTis. It comes with a Stereo Outputs. Insert it into a "instrument channel" of your Daw and mange the Outputs within the DAW.

    3. Yes / No collapsing fields with panners.

    A lot of succes
