VE/Sibelius 5.2.2

Hi-

I'm using Seblius 5.2.2 with the VE Special Edition

and getting very weird results.  I have the SE+ soundset and

am using the VE house style.  I have attached pizz as a 

technique text to the first note in Vln. 2 and only getting the articulation

for that note only.  Even though in the articulation dictionary, it is set to carry

"untill next sound ID change". Additionally, when I solo Vln 1 and 2 in the mixer,

it applies the pizz command to all notes of both instruments.

Any ideas???

Hello snakebird!

I recommend updating to at least Sibelius 5.2.5 as the Sibelius team did a great job in fixing a few playback bugs between versions 5.2 and 5.2.5.
It sounds like both violins are using the same MIDI channel. Did you apply two channels and programs for the violins on the Manual Sound Set page? This would be necessary.
If you have already done that, this problem can normally be solved in the Sibelius mixer. Reassign the sound ID (third line in the mixer) of the instrument, that doesn't switch correctly. If you use the same sound ID more than once, be careful to assign it in the right order. For example the first line with "strings.violin" for the first violin and the second line with "strings.violin" for the second violin.
