How do I remove VSL from Finale 2010?
I have Finale 2010 installed on my laptop, and also installed Logic Pro and VSL. I only use VSL with Logic, but every time I start Finale, it loads the VSL libraries. This has two big drawbacks for me; I can only use Finale when I have the eKey with me, and it takes ages for Finale to start. I cannot find the option to tell Finale to ignore VSL. How do I do that? All the best, Emile

Hello Emile!
You are writing, that you are using Logic, so I assume, that you are working on a Mac notebook. I am no specialist on Mac related questions, so maybe others can be of better help here.
As far as I know, you cannot avoid that Finale looks for all installed AUplugins and instruments. A workaround would be moving the VSL component files temporarily out of the AUplugin folder and then moving them back. Not very elegant, I know.
I would rather try to solve the problem in a different way. Normally it shouldn't take Finale that long to start with the Vienna Instruments installed and no library content should be loaded automatically on Finale start. After Finale has detected all plugins (with the eLicenser connected), everything should be quicker on the next start.I hope this was a bit helpful. If not, please describe in detail what happens during the Finale startup. Which VSL related windows/messages do you see? As written, it normally shouldn't take that long.
Best,
Andi

I have a similar problem, hence I bring this old thread back to life: in October last year I downloaded a Demo Version of Vienna Instruments Pro, the license of which is of course invalid by now. Since I upgraded to Mac OS X 10.6 the other day, I cannot start Finale anymore. Everytime I try to do so, Finale gives the following message: Applikation 'Vienna Instruments PRO' hat den folgenden Fehler verursacht: Die eLicenser enthalten keine gültige Lizenz. I only have two options to click: "Abbrechen" and "Wiederholen", both have the same result: the same message window popping up again. What can I do?
