  • Articulations - Alternations

I hope that u can me explane what alternations means...

    There are 2 or 3 or 4 velocity layers...ok I understand...

but some have 2 alternations, some 3, some 4, some not....

    What do that mean?

    Thanks

  • I think that has to do with repeating notes.  To prevent the so-called machine gun effect you get some alternate notes but I could be wrong on that one though.

No, that sounds about right to me.

  •  Do alternations apply to non-repeating notes? Wondering if this will result in a different direction of the bow?
