    this happened after installing the vienna instruments 2.1 and vienna ensemble 2.0.4017.  Can you please help get Logic back to normal.

    Using Intel Mac Pro with Logic 8.0.2 thanks

    Are you using 10.6? I encountered that this behaviour happened to me when I accidentally booted my computer from an old 10.5 start up disc.

    Maybe that's the problem.  I'm using 10.5.8.  Thanks Julian

    I just did a reinstall of my Macbook Pro (Version 10.5.8 - 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB Ram) and the same thing is now happening to me. Is there any help regarding this situation out there?

    In Logic Pro 8 on the standard menubar (file, edit, options, etc) , click [Logic Pro] [Preferences] [Audio Units Manager]. Locate [Vienna Instruments Pro] and click the checkbox to activate, then click [Done].
