Good Morning Paul:
I'm sorry, but I will stand by my original evaluation. First, let me just say; I am committed to using the Vienna Symphonic products and find the sounds so very useful muscially speaking, that I will put up with a great deal to drive around this relatively minor problem. I can save projects quite successfully in Cubase 4.5 and Vienna Ensemble so the issue with the Vienna Instruments (not being able to load files with the .fxb extension) is relatively minor and cannot stop me from using the software. And Yes, I did ask for an update from the Vienna Instruments Directory manager by making it rescan the hard drives and I am even now doing that again after having added all of the potential files that may be in use.
Second, I am an experienced computer user and may or may not find a solution; in regards to the above problem, in the past, I have always had pretty much find my own solutions (with other software also); taking the time for sending a description of the problem is usully 99 % of the solution anyway. I just find that the simple issue of loading a file with the file extensions the sofware creates(.fxb) should not be causing any problems whatsoever notwithstanding the complexities of the Vienna Symphony Library database and the complexities of Vista updates and the complexities of what other software I may have loaded on my computer. I really don't feel I should have to do the legwork on this. I am aware that software conflicts may exist on my computer and that may be causing a unique situation to my desktop but again, should not this be of some consideration to software developers? I will double check for every update known to my situation that may pertain and keep looking again for a solution.

Also, can anyone else who uses the software report on whether they can
1. Open Vienna instruments Interface and load saved .fxb extensions.
2. Report on why Vienna Ensemble reports using Vienna Instruments build 4131 when I have build 5132 ( the last build available)? In other words when I ask Vienna Ensemble to insert a new instrument it loads a blank Vienna Instrument window that reports it is reporting for duty as build 4131. Not sure about that being an issue but it may be. I know this is an additional issue but perhaps that may be related to Vienna Instruments having an Identity problem and not really knowing which version it is? I will look into reloading everything on my computer again soon anyway, I may have reinstalled the software too many times in attempts to solve some other issues. . . . again, this is not a really tremendous issue, I am sure that a simple solution exits.
Again, thanks Paul for your kind attention to this, I am not trying to be difficult, I just feel that I have to take a stand.
thanks
