  • Alternative Tunings

    Hi everyone,

I'm sure this must have been covered somewhere, but I can't find it despite searching.

I find the alternative tunings in Logic Pro are fantastically interesting to a sound and being able to change those on the fly is amazing to completely change the tuning of a piece. But I notice despite the fact a lot of other instruments conform to the tunings in Logic Vienna Instruments doesn't - which is really a shame!

There also doesn't seem to be a way to make Vienna Instruments conform to a global tuning change - you can only adjust by whole cents in the transpose section of an instrument - but some tunings are say +9.5 cents or +15.7 cents on the base tuning (with equal tuning thereafter). Even then, you don't want to have to do this for every instance, it would be far better to have a global tuning and perhaps adjust an individual instrument beyond that if you wanted to on a rare occasion.

It would be really great to be able to adjust both to match the rest of Logic, or, even better, to have it conform to the hosts tuning.

I notice that Ensemble Pro has the feature, and that Vienna Instruments Pro that is coming out soon has tuning built in - which is awesome, but I'm wondering is there a way to get even just base line tuning adjustment now without waiting for an update?

    Thanks a lot!

  • Yes I have seen that - it looks fantastic, but I was wondering

    - in the mean time is there a way to change the base tuning of A more finely than whole cents.

    - will we need to tune each individual instrument in VI Pro or will there be a global tuning saving us a lot of time?
