  • clarinet articulations missing?

    hi all,

i have a rather peculiar listing in patch assign mode when navigating to:

    40 Clarinet-Bb

     02 SHORT+LONG NOTES

the list starts with 01 KLB_Staccato and continues to 06 KLB_por_lo_sA(2).

the next and last item in the list is 11 KLB_sus.

    that makes two questions.

    1) where are patches 7-10 (i.e. long notes)?

    2) clicking on the last item does not even appear to be a patch, because the info windows displays the standard 'drag a patch name to a matrix...' string rather than the info you see when selecting a patch.

is this an installation problem? can i check this on my hard disk? the folder on my disk for '40 Clarinet' contains 26 files, properly numbered,

    thanks for any help!

    Hi Stefan,

I assume you have the DVD instruments in view here?

Check the Library manual, (that is available when you register the DVD).

Library manuals are found by going to User Area, DVD Instruments and Library Manuals

You will see that it lists nothing for the numbers you are talking about, VSL just didn't use those numbers. [:^)]I guess somebody at VSL could say why, you are not missing anything and the install most likely worked correctly.

    Have fun with the clarinet![:)]

  • Hi Stefan

Every thing is correct - so there is nothing missing.

Have a look at Flatter+Trills - you will see similar gaps in the row of the numbers. [;)]

    All the best

you're right. i saw in the finder that the bat files are numbered consecutively, so i suppose all is well. i was just confused for one thing because of the numbering and for another, because the long notes patch (which is 11 KLB_sus) does not display anything about its content as far as ram or anything all the other patches display. it is the only patch i've encountered so far that omits this information. perhaps it was just... forgotten??

    thanks for the help.

  • thanks for the hint. see my other reply. i guess all is well, but have you noticed that the info box on the sustained clarinet just displays 'patch selection mode: drag a patch... etc' instead of info about the patch itself. strange....
