  • VEP wrongly creating new instances

I have another problem with VEP.

I have 5 instances running locally on the server, connected in Logic. I have all instances decoupled, but yet, when I open a Logic project, the VEP server creates no less than 6 new instances that are now connected inside Logic, instead of the 5 which are already loaded with samples. What is going on here? I manually have to reconnect all the instances to the right ones again each time I open up the project.

  • Hi Simon,

please save your songs with the same "preserved names" of your default instances. This way all instances should be connected correctly and no additional instances will open.

The names of the preserved instances are essential. This is also described in the new VE PRO manual.

    Best,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul.

I tried reconnecting and "coupling" all the instances in the project, then closed the project, then opened it again, which worked. Then I decoupled the instances agan, saved and reopened... and then it creates all these instances again. Any further advice?

  • Logic is a bit weird with closing projects. It actually doesnät close the project when you choose to do so. To properly close a project in Logic, create a new blank project and close that. Then open your desired project.

Don't ask me why it is like this.

  • Ha there seems to be some truth to that. At least the instances still list as "connected" until I do as you say:)

Let's see if that fixes the problem.
