Hi Lubo,

Could you please explain to VSL Team that VE 64bit on OS X is needed?

Both N3 and SLE software give us the way to use VE but on OS X it is still the 32bit limited Ram usage.

Why Mac user would pay $285 for VE Pro, to get 64bit version, when PC users has the privilege to use VE 64bit for FREE?

The fact is Mac users can not take full advantage of both N3 and SLE possibilities...

I have not manage to use a full orchestra with SLE I get clicks, pops and sometime no sound using VI

I have tried to use VE pro server, but did not manage. Notion refused to extend the demo version to do more trials

So I will be very careful with SLE ! for me it is ok for a quartet but not with an 26 instrument orchestra

Hi Alain,

I am more than certain, the VSL Team is perfectly aware of all of their customers needs and certainly do not need me to explain anything :). You really should forward any such requests directly to VSL.

Personally, I feel you are missing out on so many things that VE Pro has to offer by just focusing on the price. You get so much than just x64 support for that price tag - MIDI and audio over LAN, third party VST and VSTi hosting, preserving instances, mass optimizing of VI instances - the list goes on and on.

It is an impressive product from any angle and considering it's power and flexibility, there is no doubt in mi mind it is a 'must-have' product. I would recommend it in a heart beat - me and a lot of VSL and NOTION customers use it on a regular basis to run huge full orchestra scores and it performs great.

@Cyril,

once again Cyril, I am sorry you were not able to set-up your configuration. There is a detailed video tutorial on our website that was available to you from day 1 of your NOTION3 demo, and in addition, our tech support and me personally have sent you detailed instructions on how to set up your environment.

The fact that VE Pro and NOTION3 / SLE work together is beyond dispute - as shown by the screencast videos on our website. We cannot extend a demo on the basis of people not being able to achieve a certain configuration, which is clearly shown and explained. I hope you understand.

I have spend a lot of time trying to make my test song working frist using IAC  then with VI instruments

You did not say anywhere that SLE would not work with IAC neither with large VI configuration

With VSL there no problem to extend a demo period to another 15 days.

If you dont want to extend my demo to another 15 days, this show that you have doubt that it will work

I have ask you for a full orchestra setup using VE PRO server, ---> you did not send it to me ; why , because YOU KNOW THAT IT IS NOT WORKING

Your company is not serious !

Notion Music is a serious company and their products do work well. I have made lots of testing with Notion 3 and Notion SLE myself.

but how deep did you go in SLE

Did you use a full orchestra with all articulation loaded !

My test song if "symphony from the new world " of Anton Dvorak, work fine with Logic and VE pro server

This song does not play with SLE and VI, neither with SLE and IAC

P.S. I have manage to have a only quartet working with SLE and VI

So Notion if you want to have more clients from VSL clients provide a test song using a full orchestra using VE PRO server

I can send you my test song !

by the way I have noticed that Notion is behaving very slowly when you do some editing with a big piece on my 8 core 3ghz

Actually, yes, every SLE customer can verify this. The Demo scores included with NOTION SLE feature two Full Orchestra scores with VE PRO, with all articulations loaded (those demos are not present in NOTION3 Demo). Additionally, you can go here:

They show you using VE PRO in SLE in detail and it is widely available for anyone to see.

And here: http://www.notionmusic.com/products/notion_sle.html (click Videos) you can watch the demos perfromed. Yes, those were perfromed with VE Pro!

Your demo piece is most likely a MIDI file correct? Then, as I explained before,  you will be able to import it in NOTION SLE, assign the different parts to channels in a VE PRO configuration but unless you articulate your score with slurs, staccatos, accents, performing instructions, you won't hear articualtion changes, because the resulting score wouldn't have any (MIDI files do not have score marks).

I understand that it is frustrating for you that you could not achieve what you wanted to see in the demo period time. Send me your demo piece and I will see if I can arrange to have it prepared in SLE format specifically for you.

I'm using almost exclusively VSL SE Full and do not need to welcome others VSTi...

Yes you did but I was not able to test them as my demo version had expired !

I lost a lot of time trying IAC and VI !

I have spend a lot of time preparing a metaframe for a whole orchestra !

If the demo pieces are using VSL why did not you send me the files that would have simplify everything

I  can send you the midi file, what is your email ?

But I want to test it myself with my configuration. I have been fooled so many time by other companies.

When I started to speak with your company about IAC, I have send you screen copies of all my configuration, I was said : no problem it is working !! and it is not working !!!

Then I started using VI, it is working but I get clicks, pops and sometime no sound playing that song

If you want me as a client extend the Demo period. I am going on vacation and I will return end of May, you have time to think about it

NOTION SLE does not have a demo, NOTION3 does. As far as I can tell, you have no interest in purchasing NOTION3, only SLE for VSL SE.  You downloaded a demo of NOTION3, to test a feature that is also present in SLE. You want us to extend a demo of a product which you have no interest in buying, to test a feature of the product you actually consider.

On March 29th you posted your issue, to which I replied on March 31st letting you know there is a detailed step by step video tutorial on how to setup VE PRO with NOTION3/SLE. This was really the answer to your issue. I have no way of knowing whether you watched and followed through the steps, but this was the best solution one could give. The only response in regards to this tutorial from you that I got was, and I quote: "Sorry to be a pain .... English is not my Mother thong, you should have your video in French  "

To this day, I do not know, have you actually followed through the video instructions which explain the feature in detail? Confirmations that VE PRO works just fine with NOTION3/SLE are everywhere on this forum and on NOTION Music website. A simple search will confirm this and you were also directly answered by another VSL user on another thread here, that indeed those two products work fine without a problem. 

As I said, I am willing to help you and work with you to show you how to setup your configuration, but we do not usually extend demos. I will be happy to work with you to also show you how to setup the IAC drivers to work with VE PRO as well. My email is easily found - just click on my user name and then click SEND LUBO AN EMAIL.
